Going Au Naturel

Today is the first day of the 30 x 30 Nature Challenge. The goal is to spend 30 minutes outside each day for 30 days.

Writers spend a lot of time indoors, hunched over the computer, working on our manuscript or playing games on Facebook (whoops!). It’s nice to be able to get out and enjoy the sun every now and then.

One of the things that I love about our new home is the backyard. The peach and cherry trees are starting to bear fruit. The robins and blackbirds visit often, collecting twigs and straw to build their nests. I have a nice corner where I’ll be planting my garden.

Now, due to my health, I can’t really go out and hike a few miles every day, but I can sit in my backyard and soak in the sun with my dog, Wesley.

Let’s just hope that the weather doesn’t pull a fast one on me and snow.

When was the last time you spent time with nature?
