Receive Clarity from an Experienced Teacher
Many of Boyd K. Packer’s most significant messages gathered in one book
Known to teach with boldness, knowledge, conviction, and doctrinal truth, President Boyd K. Packer has tackled some of the most difficult challenges of the 21st century. His classic style is evident in this compilation built upon bedrock gospel principles.
Included are messages delivered over a span of twenty-five years. Among them are such topics as the plan of salvation, listening to the voice of the Spirit, spiritual growth, marriage and family, as well as life sketches of Presidents Spencer W. Kimball, Howard W. Hunter, and Gordon B. Hinckley. Many are unavailable through any other source.
At a time when the adversary has succeeded in “confusing the choices of man,” President Packer shares timely insights gained from many decades of serving as a special witness of Jesus Christ.
In Wisdom and Order will be available at Deseret Book, other select retailers, and on Deseret Bookshelf.
President Packer has a down-to-earth, conversational style of teaching. His words are simple, timeless, and to the point. I found it interesting to see how his addresses often reflected the times. His conference talk given after Woodstock shares tender and unique insight into what our youth are really seeking when they experiment with sex, drugs, and alcohol. One speech regarding the regulation of funerals made me wonder just what people were doing at funerals to require such correction.
Overall, this book is an excellent collection of talks that would make a great reference for talks and Church lessons.
