This week for my Artist Date, I decided to try something a little artsy and so easy that not even I could mess it up. I created a mandala.
What is a mandala? According to the Mandala Project, the word “mandala” means “circle.” However, it is much more than just a circle. It represents wholeness, a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite.
Art Is Fun says that “Drawing and coloring a mandala can be a highly enriching personal experience in which you look inside yourself and find the shapes, colors and patterns to represent anything from your current state of mind to your most deeply-desired wish for yourself, for a loved one, or for humanity.”
Well. That seems to put a lot of pressure on the act of decorating a circle. I’m not sure I really tapped into my cosmic center while designing my mandala, but I did have fun coloring it.
So, what do you think was my deeply-desired wish for humanity was when I created this?
