A better world is closer than you think.
Book offers faith-increasing ideas to become a stronger Christian
We live in uncertain times, and it’s easy to feel frightened and unsure as we live day to day. Feeling like the world is against us or the ones we love is a common thought and may obstruct our ability to remain hopeful for the future.
In the book, The 7-Day Christian, author Brad Wilcox openly shares personal experiences, insightful stories, and practical suggestions of how to live in accordance with our values every day of the year, and in turn gain a new perspective of the world around us.
Excerpt from The 7-Day Christian:
“Christ doesn’t just want people to acknowledge His grace. He wants them to be transformed through it. He doesn’t just want people to come to Him. He wants them to become like Him – a process that takes place 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and throughout all the years of our lives.”
The 7-Day Christian invited me to take a look at myself and ask, “Am I a Christian in name only? Do I wear my Christianity like my Sunday best, only to resort to (metaphorical) jeans and a t-shirt the rest of the week?” From the very first chapter, Wilcox invites us to choose what kind of Christian we will be. Throughout the book, he shows us how we can choose to behave in a way that matches our beliefs.
Each chapter has helpful suggestions and personal stories to illustrate the message Wilcox wants us to understand. My favorite chapter was the one on becoming like a little child. I am a mother of six kids myself, and I have worked extensively as a volunteer with little children. I enjoyed the stories that Wilcox shared, and they reminded me of many of my own stories that exemplify those child-like qualities that I want to develop in my life: a desire to do right, a sense of worth, the ability to be happy, the capacity to love, a sense of wisdom, and perfect, trusting faith.
This book relies on scriptures from the King James version of the Bible. It is directed at Christians of all faiths, and I believe that it would be an informative read for anyone who desires to become a more Christ-like Christian.
The 7-Day Christian is available in bookstores nationwide, DeseretBook.com, and on Amazon.com.
